HISTORY

In 1991, 12 Germans in the Yarra Valley got together and formed a club with the view to retain the values of German traditions and culture. This was called the “German Speaking Society Yarra Valley”. Over the years, the membership has grown to over of 300 members. Of the original 12 members, currently only 3 remain.

The members are Germans and many other nationalities including Italians, Dutch, Slovenians, Swiss and Australians to name a few.

The club is a non-profit organisation and all proceeds are returned to the club members in gifts and free events throughout the year.

The “club” does not have club rooms but our monthly dances are currently held in the St. Patrick's Community Centre, Jones Street, Lilydale.

Annual membership (click here to download) is $20.00. Our dance entry fees are $12.00 for members and $17.00 for non-members.

Rita Unternahrer on (03) 9735 2438 before the Thursday of the dance after the NYE Dance which should be booked.
